MGT 3000 Financial Analysis Budgeting

This course explores financial statements and how to analyze from internal and external perspectives. The course focuses on horizontal, vertical and ratio analysis. the student will forecast financials, apply budgeting strategies and address capital budgeting and working capital management theory using computer applications, The student will gain critical thinking and analysis skills revolving around financial literacy and its application in management and leadership positions. In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Analyze the financial statements for sole proprietors, partnerships and corporations using standard ratio analysis.

2. Produce forecasted financial st atements.

3. Analyze break-ev??n results to make financial decisions.

4. Evaluate business financial decisions using time value of money tools/formulas for single sums, mixed streams and annuities.

5. Formulate budgeting strategies to provide the necessary information for financial management.

6. Examine ethical financial management theory with regards to analysis, forecasting and budgeting.

7. Research working capital management techniques.

8. Interpret capital budgeting techniques to determine the financial viability of a project.

9. Critique a business using analysis skills in areas of liquidity and efficiency, solvency, profitability and market.

10. Examine the relationship between financial literacy and management and leadership decision­making strategies.
