ITEC 2360 Teaching and Learning with Educational Technology

The student will discover how technology adds value to PK12 curriculum, exploring and evaluating technological and educational resources. Content includes learning to model educational technology, nurturing creativity, making decisions about appropriate applications, and collaborating with others to create culturally competent communities while developing information literacy, ethical responsibility, problem-solving, digital communication, and computational thinking. Prerequisites: Completion of EDFD 2020 or EDEC 1020 (3 lect.)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Utilize technology to take an active role in achieving and demonstrating competency of course objectives.

2. Explore ways technology can transform teaching and learning in schools.

3. Utilize technology tools to demonstrate how teachers develop and evaluate learning experiences for students.

4. Examine online resources for teaching students how to access and assess online information.

5. Use educational software and web-based tools to promote problem solving and inquiry learning.

6. Use communication technologies to enhance learning through interactive information exchanges and networking.

7. Use presentation tools and multimedia technologies to present information.

8. Investigate assistive technologies that differentiate instruction to promote learning success for all students.

9. Examine digital portfolios and other performance assessment technologies used to evaluate student learning.
