DNTA 1910 Dental Radiography

This course instructs the student how to administer and prepare dental x-rays. The student will receive instruction in radiographic techniques, radiographic equipment, patient management, and chart reading and preparation. (2 lect., 2 lab)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Identify appropriate radiographic technique for each patient’s unique situation

2. Identify proper equipment for each technique

3. Demonstrate the ability to select appropriate radiographic film to examine, view, or survey conditions, teeth, or landmarks

4. Demonstrate proper patient management and technique in handling a difficult patient with relation to x-ray procedures

5. Review requirements for state dental radiography examination
