Wellness constitutes one of the major components of a healthy lifestyle and general health promotion. The knowledge and experience gained in this course will enable students to make informed decisions about their own health as it relates to their quality of life and longevity. (1 lect.)

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Demonstrate understanding of the components of overall wellness.

2. Demonstrate ability to act as an informed health consumer

4. Demonstrate understanding of basic nutrition

5. Demonstrate understanding of weight management

6. Demonstrate understanding of high-risk health behaviors (which may include use/abuse of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs, high-risk sexual practices, lack of home or travel safety practices)
