FILM 2400 Screenwriting II
This course builds upon the knowledge and fundamental skills mastered in Screenwriting I. Students will take their script to completion to write the final 60 pages of a feature length screenplay or a revision of a 60 page television pilot; workshop table read-throughs, and provide feedback to classmates. Screenwriting II students will meet with Screenwriting I students to provide advanced feedback based on their experience in Screenwriting I. Students are still encouraged to tell their stories visually and not rely solely on dialogue to tell the story. Prerequisite: Completion of
FILM 1400. (3 lect.)

Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Complete a screenplay for a feature film or revise the script for a television show.
2. Analyze screenplays that have been produced by Hollywood to identify best practices and techniques to tell stories.
3. Identify ways that the medium can and has influenced audiences across the globe.
4. Analyze classmate’s scripts to provide analysis and feedback.
5. Write a 5-10 page analysis of a screenwriting textbook.

Screenplays should be approximately 60 pages in length.
