EDEC 1205 CDA Portfolio and Observation
After the completion of 120 hours of formal training, candidates for the Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) are required to have a minimum of three hours of formal classroom observation and create a Professional Resource File. Class Assignments, discussions, and activities will be used to create the resource file. Observations will be coordinated by the instructor in the appropriate setting for the credential being sought. Prerequisites: Completion of
EDEC 1020,
EDEC 1200, and
FCSC 2131, or documentation of equivalent 120 hours of formal training with current employment in a childcare/preschool setting. (2 lect.)
