CSMO 1701 Orientation to Cosmetology

This course is required of all programs in CWC's School of Cosmetology. The course provides an overview of the field and disciplines of Cosmetology. There is an emphasis on professional presence, study skills, ethics, human relations, and interpersonal communication. (2 lect.)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

Identify various professional duties within the field of Cosmetology.

Describe professional practices within the workplace.

Compare and contrast personal ethics to ethics in the workplace.

Identify basic concepts of communication. (refer to General Education crosswalk)

Demonstrate effective communication skills for a variety of audiences and settings using verbal and nonverbal message. (refer to General Education crosswalk)

Write clear, accurate sentences and paragraphs in Standard American English. (refer to General Education crosswalk)
