ANSC 1220 Livestock Judging II
This class is a continuation of the topics of Livestock Judging 1. The student will be evaluated on their knowledge of livestock breeds, ages, and sex classifications. The student will explore animal evaluation, classification, grading, and usage in all segments of the animal agriculture industry. This is primarily a lab course. Prerequisite: Completion of ANSC 1210. (1 lect., 4 lab)

- Skeletal and muscular conformation of livestock species
- Economically important phenotypic traits of livestock species
- Selecting livestock based on the objective analysis of phenotypic traits
- Placings and reasons
Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Judge evaluations, classifications, and grading on all segments of live beef judging.
2. Judge evaluations, classifications, and grading on all segments of live swine judging.
3. Judge evaluations, classifications, and grading on all segments of live sheep judging.
4. Judge evaluations, classifications, and grading on all segments of live goat judging.
