G&R 2031 Combined Expeditions:

This expedition-based course emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and outdoor skill development. Various offerings of this course include both land and water sections highlighting wilderness travel skills such as: backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, backcountry skiing or snowboarding, sailing, sea kayaking, mountaineering, canyoneering, horseback riding and packing, mountain-biking or rock-climbing. Students will learn to live and work closely with their course mates. Tolerance for adversity and uncertainty, respect for others and the environment, and a willingness to work hard will be critical to success. Students should expect ongoing verbal coaching and feedback throughout the course, as well as performance summaries at the end of each section. When this course is offered in conjunction with NOLS, NOLS permission is a prerequisite. As part of the NOLS semester, this course must be taken concurrently with EDUC 2050, G&R 2050, and on select NOLS semesters with HLED 2010 or 2015. This course may be repeated once in a different location. (1-5 lect.) (Max 4-10)
